Audyssey has recently offially announced that two new entry-level Onkyo AVRs called TX-NR609 and TX-NR509 incorporate the Company’s Latest Audio Technology.
The TX-NR609 is a 7.2-channel AVR with six HDMI inputs, while the entry-level TX-NR509 is a 5.1-channel A/V receiver which includes advanced networking capabilities and a ‘Made for iPod/iPhone’ USB interface. To offer users even more flexibility, each can be controlled by Onkyo’s Remote App or when used with a free new App from Onkyo, it can be remote controlled using an iPhone/iPod.
Both AVRs feature a front-panel USB port with a direct digital connection for an iPhone or iPod, network-capable, and provide compatibility with Windows® 7 and DLNA. The Internet connection greatly simplifies the process of providing future updates to the receiver’s firmware.

Other features include PLL jitter-cleaning circuitry to preserve signal clarity, lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, an overlaid on-screen display for easy adjustment of settings, and a new front panel design.
The TX-NR609 carries a suggested list price of $599, while the TX-NR509 comes in at $399
