HTC has announced at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2011, the HTC SALSA Smartphone dubbed as Social Phone featuring a dedicated Facebook button for one-touch access to the key functions of the Facebook service that are integrated throughout the HTC Sense experience.
HTC SALSA Android Powered SmartphoneAccording to HTC, the new HTC SALSA Android smartphone, along with earlier announced HTC ChaCha smartphone is built entirely to be social, combining the simplicity, ease-of-use and depth of HTC Sense with the power and connectivity of Facebook featuring a dedicated Facebook button for one-touch access to the key functions of the Facebook service that are integrated throughout the HTC Sense experience.
The dedicated Facebook button on HTC SALSA smartphone is context-aware, gently pulsing with light whenever there is an opportunity to share content or updates through Facebook allowing users update their status, upload a photo, share a Website, post what song they are listening to, ‘check in’ to a location and more.
The new HTC SALSA smartphone runs Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 version and uses the latest iteration of HTC Sense version 3.0 to integrate Facebook social networking throughout the HTC Sense experience. The same updates are also displayed when user receive a call from a Facebook friend.
The HTC SALSA smartphone feel solid and natural in hand and runs on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread operating system with HTC Sense 3.0 touchscreen user interface featuring touch sensitive buttons. Powered by 600 MHz Qualcomm processor the HTC SALSA Social Smartphone features Accelerometer sensor, and Proximity sensor and is based on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread operating system for mobile devices with the next-generation HTC Sense touchscreen user interface with cloud services.
HTC SALSA phone features dual camera – a 5.0 megapixel auto-focus rear facing digital camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels still picture resolution, geo-tagging, face-detection and built-in LED flash also allowing users record video and a secondary front-facing VGA resolution camera for video calling.
Other features of HTC Salsa social smartphone includes FM radio with RDS, GPS with A-GPS support, Digital compass, audio media player supporting, video media player, Google applications, Adobe Flash 10.1 support and access to Android Market with over 100,000 free and paid apps for Android platform.
HTC Salsa smartphone offers even more ways to stay connected utilizing FriendStream application that connects to Facebook, Twitter and Flickr networks and present the updates in a consolidated view. The HTC SALSA Android v2.3.3 powered smartphone featuring dedicated Facebook button will be available in Asian and European markets in July 2011.
